Graduation Requirements
Master of Science Programme & Postgraduate Diploma Programme: Student's performance is assessed on a course-by-course basis. Students are required to attend at least 60% of the lectures, seminars, tutorials, and practical sessions, and to obtain a ‘satisfactory pass’ in the assessment of each module, with a cumulative overall GPA of at least 2.0 (out of a total of 4).
Recognition of the Programmes
CME & Quotable Qualification
The Medical Council of Hong Kong recognises both the Master of Science and Postgraduate Diploma degrees in Epidemiology and Biostatistics as quotable qualifications. Hong Kong local Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits for non-specialists can also be obtained.
HK Qualification Framework
The programmes were designed in accordance with the Hong Kong Qualification Framework Level 6 Master Degree Quality Framework.
Transfer of Credits
Graduates from the Postgraduate Programme in Epidemiology and Biostatistics and other Postgraduate Programmes in the JC School of Public Health and Primary Care, with an average result of B or above, may be exempted from the core courses should they apply for further studies in the Master of Epidemiology and Biostatistics Programme.
