流行病學專業證書課程(只限英文版)

The discipline of epidemiology is concerned with conducting research in human populations to address practical issues related to health, disease, and health care. The programme aims to provide comprehensive training in collecting, analyzing and interpreting epidemiological data. This programme is to develop students’ ability in addressing practical public health and clinical issues, planning and designing epidemiological studies, and interpreting and using findings from such studies for patient care, public health interventions and policy making.

 

Programme Outcome

Upon completion of this programme, students will have acquired the ability to:-

  1. know what epidemiology is and the role of epidemiology in medical care and in health research;

  2. learn the major types of epidemiological study and the main principle for their design and conduct;

  3. understand the concepts and terminology in epidemiology;

  4. have some exposure to the applications of epidemiology in control of disease and improving health;

  5. learn how to apply the principles in design of a research project; and

acquire the skills in the critical appraisal of published research evidence for making health and medical decisions.

The 4 courses in the programme are:

Course 1: Introduction to Epidemiology

Course 2: Epidemiology II

Course 3: Epidemiology III

Course 4: Protocol Development I
 

Language

English will be used as the medium for instruction.

Tuition Fee

HK$49,500.00*

*Remarks:  JC School of Public Health and Primary Care reserves the right to increase the fees in coming academic years.

Tuition Fee Payment
Students are required to pay the first installment of course fee HK$24,750.00 (half of full fees) before the course commences. The tuition fee, once paid, is non-refundable or non-transferable. Payment(s) can be made by a crossed cheque or bankdraft, payable to “The Chinese University of Hong Kong”
